Hit 500 showings this month and it totally threw me

I've been doing this real estate thing for about 8 years now and I keep a running count of showings just for my own tracking. Last month I hit 500 showings total since I started. That number just kind of snuck up on me one afternoon while I was updating my spreadsheet. It's not like I set out to hit a milestone, but seeing that number made me stop and actually think about all the houses I've walked through. 500 showings means I've probably seen every kind of basement leak and weird floor plan you can imagine. It matters because it reminded me that I've actually learned a ton from just being in so many different homes. Has anyone else ever had a number like that pop up and make you rethink your whole approach to your work?

Did your spreadsheet surprise you like that? My friend Carol runs a cleaning business and she hit 1,000 houses cleaned last year. She said she started thinking about all the weird things she'd found under people's couches, like a pet iguana that got loose once. It really made her look back at how much she had learned from just being in so many different homes.
