My car died in a drive thru last week and then a stranger fixed it for free
I was at a McDonald's near downtown Austin and my battery just gave out. Like dead dead, wouldn't even click. Some guy in a jeep offered to jump it and I thought he'd want money but he just did it and left. Then I found $20 in my cupholder I forgot about so I got lunch for free. Has anyone else had a stranger randomly save their day like that?

Put me in the McDonald's drive thru with a dead car and I'd probably end up ordering anyway, just hoping the engine could hear my stomach growling and turn over out of pity. Good on that guy for not charging you, that's rare these days.

Man that's awesome. @wadefoster is right, not a lot of people do stuff like that for free anymore. I had my alternator go out in a parking lot last year and some guy in a truck stopped and helped me push it to a spot so I could call a friend. Didn't ask for anything, just said he'd been there before and walked off. Little stuff like that kinda restores your faith in people, you know. Glad you got your free lunch out of it too.
