Overheard a guy at the bus stop say something that flipped my whole afternoon

I was having a rough day last Tuesday. Spilled coffee on my shirt, missed my train by 30 seconds, the usual. Then I'm waiting for the next bus and this older guy tells his friend, 'A bad day is just a good story you haven't told yet.' I started thinking about it and it kind of snapped me out of my mood. Has anyone else had a random stranger's comment turn things around for you?

That whole "bad day is a good story" thing really hit me too. The lost sock comment from your story is exactly that kind of thing. It's better than some deep life advice because it's just so dumb and real. Like, yeah, maybe my sock is out there having a better day than me. I think that's why those little one-liners from strangers stick with us. They cut through all the noise and just remind you to lighten up.

Honestly, that reminds me of something that happened to me at a laundromat like two years ago. This woman was folding her clothes and mumbling about how her dryer ate her favorite sock, and this guy just goes, "That sock's probably living its best life now, you know?" It was so stupid but we all laughed and it broke this tense quiet in the room. Sometimes a dumb joke or a weird line is all it takes to reset your whole brain. Ngl, I still think about that lost sock sometimes.
