Saw a neighbor's garden totally transform after they started using coffee grounds

Their tomatoes were leggy and sad all spring, then they dumped a bucket of used Starbucks grounds around them in July and the plants doubled in size within 3 weeks. Has anyone else had that crazy of a turnaround from a simple ground change?

Have you ever noticed how sometimes the smallest, cheapest fix can make the biggest difference? I see this pattern everywhere, not just in gardening but in life. People spend a ton of money on fancy fertilizers and amendments, but often what the plant really needs is a simple boost of nitrogen or acidity, which coffee grounds provide. It reminds me of how we overcomplicate things when the answer is usually right under our noses, just like those used grounds. Sometimes the best solution is the one that's already free and readily available.

Right? I did the same thing with my tomato plants last summer. Spent all this money on fancy organic stuff and they were still sad. Then my neighbor just tossed some eggshells and coffee grounds around them and boom, they went crazy. Sometimes the simple thing is the right thing.
