Stuck in a flooded parking lot in Seattle changed my whole view on umbrellas

My car battery died during a downpour near Pike Place and a stranger handed me this beat-up travel umbrella that somehow kept me dry. It made me realize I'd been avoiding umbrellas for years because I thought they were a hassle. Has anyone else had a random object totally shift how you do things?
