The 'just get over it' advice that cost me a week of my own headspace

My sister told me to stop dwelling on a bad work review and just move on. I took her advice, pushed it down, and spent the next 6 days feeling worse, snapping at my kids, and losing sleep in Detroit. Finally, I sat down and wrote out every complaint from that review, line by line, and found two real issues I could fix. Turns out feeling the bad day first, not dodging it, was the actual turnaround. Has anyone else found that ignoring a problem just makes the next day harder?

Isn't pushing through sometimes the only way to actually get past it though?
