Warning: My washing machine flooded the kitchen at 6am on a Sunday and my neighbor saved the whole day
Last Sunday my washing machine hose blew and I had about 2 inches of water spread across my kitchen floor in under 10 minutes. I was panicking with towels when my neighbor Dave heard me yelling and showed up with a wet vac and a box fan, and we got it dried out before any real damage happened. Has anyone else had a home disaster get saved by someone nearby?
Man, that Dave guy is a real one. My dishwasher leaked all over my floor last year around midnight and I just stood there watching it like an idiot until my upstairs neighbor came down because she heard me cussing through the wall. She brought this old shop vac that looked like it survived a war and we sucked up every last drop. Took us like an hour but we saved the hardwood, which would've been a few grand to replace. Good neighbors are worth more than any home warranty, no question.
