Worst morning ever turned around by a stranger at a bus stop
I spilled coffee all over my shirt at 7am, missed the 7:15 bus, and then realized my wallet was at home. I was about to just give up and go back to bed when this old lady at the bus stop offered me a spare bus pass she had. She said she keeps extras for people having a rough day. Got to work 40 minutes late but my boss didn't even notice. Has anyone else had a random stranger just save their day like that?

My coworker Sarah has a similar thing she does with umbrellas. She keeps like 5 cheap ones in her car and just hands them out when it starts pouring and people are caught without one. She said she started doing it after a stranger gave her a ride home from a flat tire in 2017 and she wanted to pay it forward somehow. Its funny how one small gesture from a stranger can totally flip your whole day around. That bus pass lady sounds like a legend.

That whole "pay it forward" thing @paige_west mentioned really sticks. A couple years back I was stuck at a gas station with a dead battery and no jumper cables. This dude in a beat up truck pulled over, didn't even say much, just hooked me up and drove off before I could thank him proper. I started keeping a spare jumper kit in my trunk after that, handed it out twice already. Acts like that from strangers make you believe in people again, you know?
