After 20 years of baking, I finally tried using a digital scale instead of measuring cups

I always thought weighing ingredients was for professional bakers only, but my cookies were coming out different every batch. Last week I bought a $15 scale from Target and my chocolate chip cookies finally came out perfect three times in a row. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big difference in their baked goods?

Wait, you only paid $15 for your scale? That's wild, I always thought you'd have to drop like fifty bucks on one of those fancy digital ones. I finally caved and got a $20 one from Walmart and oh my god, it's embarrassing how much better my banana bread turned out. The wet/dry ratio finally makes sense, you know? I can't believe I spent 15 years just guessing with measuring cups and getting different results every time.

I spent 15 years guessing with measuring cups" - come on man, is it really that deep? Its a kitchen scale, not a life changing revelation. I got one for $12 on Amazon and yeah, it works fine. But acting like your banana bread went from trash to gourmet overnight because you finally weighed flour instead of scooping it? Feels a little dramatic. Ive been baking with cups for like 20 years and my cookies turn out fine. Maybe the difference isnt the scale, maybe you just finally paid attention to what you were doing.
