Spent $80 on a silpat mat and it already saved my batch

Burned through three pans of cookies last month because I kept forgetting parchment paper, so I finally bought one of those silicone baking mats. Has anyone else found these things are worth the hype or am I just lucky so far?

Honestly the real test is whether you accidentally toss it in the trash with the crumbs like I did my first week. Maybe it's just me but I swear I've saved more dough by not having to re-grease pans every single time. Plus cleanup is just a quick rinse and wipe compared to scrubbing burnt parchment scraps off the cookie sheets. That $80 probably paid for itself after the first three batches if you factor in the butter you would've wasted.

You might be overthinking this a bit. Plenty of us have been using parchment paper and butter for years without it being some huge ordeal. Honestly, a quick spray of Pam works just as well and costs way less than eighty bucks.
