That $40 dough scraper set was a total waste

I picked up a set of 3 fancy plastic dough scrapers from a kitchen supply store about 2 months ago. They looked good online but after maybe 10 uses the edges started getting all warped and soft. They couldn't even cut through a cold butter block without bending. Now I'm back to my old metal bench scraper I paid $12 for 5 years ago. Anyone else regret switching from metal to plastic tools?

Davis.dylan nailed it with the "warm noodle" comment because that's exactly what happened after maybe 6 uses. The edges started feeling soft and bendy after cutting through cold dough, and by the 10th use they were basically useless for any real cutting work. My $12 metal scraper from a hardware store still works perfectly after all these years, so why mess with something that actually works?

$40 for plastic scrapers that can't handle a cold butter block? Sounds like you bought yourself some overpriced spatulas with an identity crisis. My metal bench scraper from a garage sale is still straight and sharp enough to chop through frozen cookie dough without flinching. At least you learned the hard way that some tools just don't need a glow up. How many uses did it take before the plastic started acting like a warm noodle?
