Appreciation post: My chocolate chip cookies turned into puddles because I used melted butter

I was rushing and didn't let it cool, so they spread across the whole sheet. Anyone have a good trick for chilling butter fast when you're in a hurry?

Oh man, I feel that pain. @jennifer69 is totally right about the grater, that's a lifesaver. I've also just stuck the whole mixing bowl in the fridge for a few minutes while I get the pans ready, seems to help a bit.

Yeah, the freezer trick is solid but you gotta watch it. I've had butter go from soft to rock hard in like 10 minutes, which is just as bad for creaming. If you're really in a pinch, grate cold butter with a cheese grater, it chills super fast and incorporates way easier.
