Bought a fancy $80 cake pan that warped in the oven
I was so excited to make a tall layer cake for my sister's birthday, but the pan bent completely out of shape during the preheat. Now my batter is all over the oven floor and I'm out the money. Has anyone found a brand of bakeware that actually holds up?

That's such a gut punch, especially for a special occasion. My old Nordic Ware pans have never done me dirty like that, even after years of abuse. Might be worth checking their heavier gauge stuff.

Preheating an empty pan is actually a common cause of warping, especially with nonstick coatings that can't take dry heat. Even heavy duty pans can buckle if the heat hits uneven spots in your oven. Maybe try popping a cast iron skillet on the rack below to even out the temp next time. Did you reach out to the company about a refund?
