That time I tried a 3-tier cake for a wedding in Cleveland and it nearly ended me
My cousin asked me to do her wedding cake last summer, 80 people, and I thought I was ready. I spent 12 hours on it, got the tiers stacked, then the whole thing tilted sideways 20 minutes before the reception started. Now I always use dowels AND a center rod plus I test the setup on the actual table first. Anyone else have a cake disaster that made you change your whole approach?

Waited until the last possible minute to test the setup huh? I gotta ask though, did you level that table first or just assume it was good? Because I've seen a solid cake fall apart just cause the floor had a tiny slope.

Ha! I leveled the table with a wad of napkins under one leg, perfect engineering.
