Appreciation post: started buying dented canned goods at the Grocery Outlet on 3rd Street
Used to walk right past the clearance cart at the Grocery Outlet near me because I figured dented cans meant botulism, but after a stocker there told me a dented label just means the warehouse forklift clipped the pallet and the seal is fine, I've been buying 4 cans for $1 for three months now with zero issues, so does anyone have a store that marks down stuff even cheaper?
Scored 6 cans for $1 last week at a place called Sharp Shopper, dented and all. Saved like $14 off normal price. Cans with a small ding on the side are fine, it's the ones with a dent right on the top or bottom seam you want to skip. Been doing this for years and never got sick once. Just check that the can isn't bulging or leaking and you're good.
