Found a $3 brass owl lamp at a Goodwill in Columbus and flipped it for $85 on Marketplace
Last Saturday I stopped by the Goodwill on High Street in Columbus just to kill time before an open house. I dug through the back bin and pulled out this heavy brass owl lamp for $3, no shade and a little tarnished, but the base had a real maker's mark on it. Took it home, scrubbed it with ketchup and a rag, and listed it on Marketplace that night for $90. A guy drove 40 minutes from Dayton and handed me $85 cash the next morning. That one stop paid for my gas for the entire week and then some. Has anyone else had luck cleaning up brass with stuff from the kitchen, or do you use something else?
