Found a $3 vintage hand mixer at Goodwill. Washing it took 45 minutes.

I grabbed this old Hamilton Beach mixer from the 70s at a thrift store near Denver for three bucks. It was coated in grease and smelled like someone's basement from 1985. Scrubbing the beaters and vents took way longer than I expected like almost an hour. Plugged it in and it actually runs smooth though. Maybe I shoulda just wiped it down and called it good but the grime was nasty. Anyone else spend forever cleaning a bargain find before using it?

Wonder if the previous owner ever actually cleaned it though?

Bleach soak is the only way. Hot water and a good scrub after that.
