Found a beat up coffee grinder at a garage sale and discovered my pre-ground habit was the problem all along

I was in Ames, Iowa last month and grabbed a old Braun grinder for $3 at this estate sale. Realized after a week that grinding beans right before brewing makes way more difference than buying fancy bags ever did. Now I just get whatever whole beans are on clearance at the grocery store and it tastes better than my usual $14 stuff. Anyone else find a cheap tool that actually changed your daily routine?

Did you try running a cheap grinder a second time for finer dust?
