Hit 50 thrift store mugs and had to stop myself

I was organizing my kitchen cabinet last weekend and realized I had 50 coffee mugs from various Goodwill trips over the last 3 years. Every time I saw a weird one like a neon green mug with a cartoon cat wearing sunglasses from the 80s I had to grab it for 50 cents. Now I gotta give half of them away cause I can't even drink out of all of them. Anyone else hit a weird collection number without meaning to?

Used to think collectors were just hoarders in denial, but your post makes a lot of sense. Fifty mugs is a lot, but it sounds like you were on a fun treasure hunt rather than just piling stuff up. Those weird finds like a neon cat mug would be hard to pass up for fifty cents. I get how that excitement adds up faster than you realize. Your story honestly made me rethink my own habits with old books from library sales. Maybe I need to take a hard look at my own shelves.
