My dollar store reading glasses went from flimsy to actually sturdy and I can't figure out when it happened
The 3 pairs of $1 reading glasses I grabbed at a Dollar Tree in Fresno about 5 years ago would crack at the hinge within a week, but the ones I picked up at the same store on Tuesday feel like they could survive a drop on concrete. I'm guessing some supplier overseas finally started using thicker plastic, or maybe the store switched vendors and never said anything. Has anyone else noticed cheap stuff quietly getting better instead of worse, and does it ever make you suspicious about what changed?
