Pro tip: That $3 garlic press I grabbed from Dollar Tree actually works better than my KitchenAid one
I've been avoiding cheap kitchen tools for years after a bad can opener, but this little press handles raw cloves without bending and the cleanup is a 2 second rinse. Has anyone else found a random dollar store item that outlasted their fancy brand name stuff?

Right? Dollar tree stuff is WILD sometimes. I grabbed a veggie peeler there that legit lasted longer than the OXO one I had for years. Still works perfect, never rusted.

That "legit lasted longer" part gets me, @jason_stone. I had the opposite experience. Bought a dollar tree can opener once and the handle snapped clean off on the third use. Cheap stuff is a lottery, sometimes you win, mostly you don't. I'll stick with paying a bit more for tools I know won't fail right when I need them.
