Snagged a $5 plastic wine glass set from the dollar store and it melted in the microwave on day one

I figured for five bucks I could at least heat up my leftover chili without a second thought, but the whole thing warped into a sad little twisty mess, so has anyone else had cheap drinkware betray them like that?

Grabbed a set of those glass mugs from a big box store for a similar price and learned the hard way too. Now I just use my old mason jars for reheating stuff in the microwave, they never warp or crack on me. I got a pack of them for like ten bucks and they've lasted years without any issues. Just make sure you take off the metal lid before you nuke anything haha. For cold drinks I'll still use the cheap plastic cups but anything hot goes straight in the glass jars. It's way cheaper than buying fancy microwave safe cups and honestly works better.
