That $2 clock I picked up at Goodwill in Austin finally broke after 3 years.

I replaced the battery twice but the second hand started skipping seconds last night. How long do your cheap thrift store finds usually last before they give out?

Man, I heard somewhere that the cheap quartz movements in those budget clocks are actually pretty solid for what they cost. Mine's going on four years now with just a battery swap every 12 months or so. The second hand on mine started stuttering too around year three but I just gave the wind-up knob a little nudge and it straightened out for a while. Guess you got your money's worth out of that $2 though, three years for two bucks is a steal.
