That cheap router table I picked up at a garage sale cost me more in the long run

I found a router table at a garage sale for 15 bucks last spring. Thought I got a steal, but the fence was warped and the insert plate had a big wobble. Spent about 30 extra dollars trying to fix it with replacements before I gave up. Now it sits in my garage corner. Anyone else been burned by a tool that looked better than it worked?

C'mon, thirty bucks ain't that bad in the grand scheme of things... did you at least try to just shim the fence with some cardboard?

Thirty bucks for a shim fix with cardboard? That seems like a lot for a temporary patch that will just rot or get knocked loose the next time it rains or a dog runs into it. @paul_mason12, are we really acting like cardboard is a permanent solution for a fence? I tried that once and it fell apart in two weeks, so now I'm out the cash and still have a messed up fence. People act like every little home repair has to be a huge deal, but sometimes it's worth spending a bit more to fix it right the first time instead of patching it with junk. Guess it depends if you want it to last or just get by for a month.
