Coworker told me my bike lights were worthless after a near miss in the dark
Last fall a guy at work saw my setup and said those little blinky LEDs don't do squat for actually seeing the road. He was right, I almost hit a pothole on my way home on Pine Street. I swapped to a 800 lumen headlight and a proper rear taillight that cost me about $60 total. Has anyone else had someone call out a safety thing you were doing wrong?

Swapped to a similar setup after almost getting taken out by a car turning left. That cheap light I had before barely lit up the sidewalk let alone the road. Honestly the difference is night and day and worth every penny.

Read somewhere that a lot of those cheap bike lights barely meet basic safety standards, so good on you for making the swap @the_shane. Glad you're still around to talk about it.
