Rain gear used to mean trash bags and hope, now I swear by my 40 dollar poncho setup

Back in 2015 I rode through a Seattle downpour in a flimsy emergency poncho that ripped at mile 3, but these days I layer a cheap cycling cape over my work clothes and it somehow keeps my laptop dry even on the 7 mile route to my office.
