Rain gear used to mean trash bags and hope, now I swear by my 40 dollar poncho setup
Back in 2015 I rode through a Seattle downpour in a flimsy emergency poncho that ripped at mile 3, but these days I layer a cheap cycling cape over my work clothes and it somehow keeps my laptop dry even on the 7 mile route to my office.

Wore a trash bag on a ride in 2013 and showed up to work looking like a drowned sandwich. Now I keep a $25 rain cape stuffed in my bag year round and it's saved me more times than I can count.
