Serious question, do you pick the shady street with broken glass or the sunny one with the nasty hill?
So my ride to work is about 4 miles and there are honestly only two ways to get there, and both of them stink in their own special way. The first one goes through this tree lined street near the old Sears on Delmar, super pretty and cool in the summer, but the bike lane is basically a minefield of broken glass and I have popped 2 tubes there in 6 weeks. The other way is straight up a hill that gets full sun, and by the time I get to the top I am sweating through my shirt, but the road is smooth and clean. Last Tuesday I stood at the corner for like 3 solid minutes just staring at both of them like an idiot, and a guy walking his dog goes, "Pick the hill, glass always wins." I ended up taking the hill and yeah, I was a sweaty mess at my desk, but I did not have to patch anything. I still cannot decide if that was the right call though. Which one would you take, the glass street or the sweat hill?
