The shortcut through the railroad underpass saved me 12 minutes each way until I got a flat from glass shards on day three
Has anyone else found a faster route that turned out to have a hidden cost like debris or bad lighting?

Was it worth the time saved dealing with that repair?

Honestly I gotta push back on that a little. Tbh the time saved was pretty significant when you factor in waiting for a shop to diagnose, order parts, and schedule you in. Ngl fixing it yourself can be a headache but it also teaches you what not to do next time which saves even more time down the road. Plus you don't have to deal with the shop trying to upsell you on other stuff while you're there. So yeah it might take a few extra hours upfront but the experience and confidence you gain is worth it.
