TIL I was wrong about riding in the rain, a guy at the Portland bike shop changed my mind
Three years ago I swore I'd never bike to work in the rain after one miserable ride home in a downpour. Then a mechanic at a shop on SE Hawthorne told me he rides year round and the trick is full fenders plus a cheap rain cape, not staying dry but staying warm. I tried it two months ago on a wet Tuesday and honestly it was fine, my back stayed dry and I got to the office in 20 minutes flat. Now I just keep a towel and a spare pair of socks in my desk drawer. What do you all do about wet shoes, because that part still stinks?
