Turned my day around with a $12 handlebar mirror yesterday

I was sick of craning my neck at every intersection on my 14th Street ride, nearly got clipped by a delivery van last Tuesday. Picked up a cheap mirror at the bike shop on Grand and it's a game changer, I can see traffic coming without wobbling. Anyone else swear by these things or do you just trust the shoulder check?
