Almost lost my entire watch history on Netflix last night

I was at a friend's place in Austin and their kid accidentally factory reset the smart TV while we were mid-binge on a 6 season show. That little scare made me realize I should check if my streaming profiles are backed up or linked to anything - has anyone else had this happen and lost their progress?

I used to think it was no big deal losing your watch history because hey you can just remember where you left off, right? But after reading your post about that close call with the factory reset it really hit me how much work that would be to track down everything again. We had the same thing happen with my sister's Netflix account when we were halfway through a long documentary series and it just wiped out all the progress. Now I actually go in and sync everything to my phone or double check the profile settings once a month or so. It's one of those things you don't think about until you almost lose it, like you said. Maybe it's just me being paranoid but I'd rather be safe than sorry now.
