Binged 'The Bear' in one sitting, now I can't watch cooking shows the same way

Last weekend I tore through all 8 episodes of The Bear in like 6 hours. The chaos in that kitchen gave me actual anxiety, but I couldn't stop. Then I tried rewatching an old Food Network show right after and it felt fake, too clean. Is the grit what makes a show bingeable, or does it just burn you out? Has anyone else had a show wreck other shows for them, like you can't go back to the lighter stuff?

The grit is part of why it works, but it's not the whole reason. Those old cooking shows are about comfort and easy wins, while The Bear is about people falling apart and trying to hold it together. They're just different things, so I wouldn't say one ruins the other, they're just not doing the same job.
