Got hooked on The Americans after skipping it for 5 years

I used to only watch crime dramas with big car chases every 10 minutes. My buddy in Seattle made me sit through the first 3 episodes of The Americans and I almost walked out. Has anyone else found a slow burn show that totally changed your view on what good TV looks like?

And then you realize the spy stuff is just window dressing for the best marriage drama on TV lol

Read an article once that called it the most honest show about marriage ever made, even with all the fake identities and murders. That stuck with me because it's true - the way Philip and Elizabeth argue about trust and keeping secrets feels realer than most dramas where there's no spies. The scene where she finds out about his other "wife" in D.C. hit harder than any shootout could. Funny how a show about pretending to be someone else ends up being the most genuine thing on TV.
