Just realized the main actor from that British crime show was in a kids movie I saw as a kid

I was binge watching this dark crime drama called The Fall last week. It's super grim and intense. Then I see the lead guy's face and it's bugging me. I look him up. Turns out he played the dad in a movie I watched with my little sister in 2008. It was a silly comedy about a talking dog. Total whiplash. Weird how actors can just disappear into roles. Has anyone else spotted a serious actor in something totally random?

Dude I saw the guy from Lord of the Rings playing a bumbling chef in a Disney Channel movie and it broke my brain.

Argue the opposite, sure. @ward.mason, I think you're overthinking it. That's just called being an actor, dude. Sean Astin was Samwise Gamgee, the most loyal hobbit ever, and playing a clumsy chef in a cheesy Disney movie is just him showing range. It'd be way weirder if he only ever played serious fantasy characters his whole life. You're acting like seeing him in a different wig is some kind of mind trip, when it's really just him doing his job.
