Just realized The Office laugh track is fake in the later seasons
I was rewatching season 7 last night and something felt off about the timing of the studio laughter. Looked it up and yeah they started adding canned laughs after Steve Carell left because the live audience wasn't reacting as much. Why do shows even bother pretending with fake audience noise? Has anyone else noticed this in other long running shows?

Yeah but Parks and Rec was always kind of fake with the audience. The thing that gets me is why networks dont just let laugh tracks die already. People are smarter than they think, we can tell when something is fake laughter. Did the showrunners ever come out and admit this was happening or did they just try to sneak it past everyone like it was normal?

Dude that’s wild! My buddy Marcus told me he was watching Parks and Rec and noticed the exact same thing when Rob Lowe left. He said the laughter got all weird and robotic, totally killed the vibe for him.
