One comment about my recaps made me rethink how I watch everything

I used to binge with my phone in my hand, barely looking up. My buddy sat through a whole season of The Bear with me back in March and said, "You miss all the quiet stuff, man." At first I brushed it off, but he was right. I was skipping scenes every few minutes to check sports scores or scroll reddit. So I started doing phone-free episodes, one per night, and even rewound a few scenes to catch facial reactions. Now I catch little callbacks and mood shifts I never noticed before. It takes me twice as long to finish a show but I actually remember what happened. Has anyone else had a simple comment from a friend totally change their viewing habits like that?

Man, that hit close to home... I did the same thing for years until my sister called me out during Breaking Bad. Now I do one show at a time, no phone in the room, and I pause to actually think about what just happened before moving on. It feels slower but way more worth it, you start noticing the acting choices and little details that make the whole thing click.
