Showerthought: I just realized my 'binge watch' plan fell apart because I picked the wrong show to start with.
I had a free weekend and decided to finally watch 'Severance'. I got through the first two episodes on Friday night and just felt confused and a bit bored. By Saturday afternoon, I switched over to an old favorite, 'The Good Place', and watched six episodes straight without even thinking about it. The lesson for me was that a complex, slow-burn show isn't the right choice when I'm actually tired and just want to relax. I need to match the show's mood to my own energy level. Has anyone else picked a show that was totally wrong for their headspace at the time?

Totally get that, I did the same thing trying to start "Dark" on a lazy Sunday. My brain was just mush and I couldn't keep up with the subtitles and timeline jumps. Switched to rewatching "Parks and Rec" and it was like putting on a comfy hoodie, instantly clicked. Now I save those heavier shows for when I'm actually alert and paying attention, otherwise it feels like homework.

My third attempt at Dark felt like actual math class, @nathanb71.

The best way to watch a show like Dark is to just dive in when you're tired. Your brain being a bit slow forces you to accept the weird timeline stuff instead of overthinking it. I started season two late on a Tuesday after work, totally wiped, and just went with the flow. Letting the subtitles and family trees wash over you is better than treating it like a test you have to study for. Sometimes you just need to stop fighting a complex story and let it be confusing.
