Vent: I've been skipping the first season of shows for years and just found out I'm an idiot.
I always thought pilots were slow and I'd just read a recap to catch up. My buddy in Chicago made me watch the first season of 'The Bear' from the start last week. I'd only seen season two. The whole story about his brother and the note in the book? I missed all that context. It completely changed how I saw the main guy's anger. I've probably ruined a dozen shows for myself doing this. Does anyone else skip around, or do you always start at episode one?

My cousin did the same thing with Breaking Bad, just jumped into season three. He had no idea why Walter was so intense at first. I always need that first season setup or the characters feel flat.

Totally get that. I tried watching Game of Thrones from season four once because my friends were talking about it. Had zero clue who anyone was or why they were fighting. Felt like reading a book starting at chapter twenty, all the good character stuff happens early. Your cousin missed the whole point of Walter's slow burn into Heisenberg.
