Found a trick for keeping my coal fire from going out at night
I used to lose my fire overnight all the time and have to start fresh in the morning, which eats up like 45 minutes. A old smith at a demo in Columbus showed me to bury the fire in ash and leave one small air hole with a piece of rebar. Tried it Tuesday night and my fire was still glowing at 6am. Anyone else got a way to keep coals alive that long?
