Last year my coffee maker quit right before a big meeting. It feels like everything is built to fail at the worst possible moment now. Tools, appliances, even the little plastic clip on a bag of bread. You can't trust anything to just work when you need it to. Why do we accept that as normal? It's not just bad luck, it's the whole system.
