Spent $150 on a gas forge kit and it paid off in 3 jobs
I was dead set on sticking with my coal forge because that's what I learned on. But after burning through a tank of propane on a Saturday, I'm actually faster now and my steel heats up way more even. Anyone else make the switch and find it worth it?

Wait, you held onto a coal forge that long? I feel your pain on that one, man. I was the same way for years, thought propane was cheating or something. But once I bit the bullet and swapped, my work got way more consistent and I stopped cussing at my fire every five minutes. It took a job or two to really trust it, but now I wouldn't go back. Glad to see I'm not the only one who finally came around to the fancy gas stuff.

Oh man, say it ain't so. Next thing you know you'll be telling me you switched from hand crank to a blower too.
