Switched from a coal forge to a propane one in my garage 8 months ago and I miss the quiet
I ran a coal forge in my backyard for 6 years, but my neighbor in Boise kept complaining about the smoke so I picked up a 2 burner propane forge for around $400 this past winter. The thing heats steel way faster and I don't smell like sulfur anymore, but I didn't expect the roar of the burners to be so loud that I can't hear my hammer taps as well. Anyone here made the switch and figured out a way to quiet the burners down, or do you just get used to it?
