TIL a 150 year old anvil in Ohio still rings true
Stopped by a small shop near Dayton over the weekend. The guy had this anvil from the 1870s sitting there, no chips or cracks just a bit of rust. He let me tap it with a hammer and the ring was clear and sharp. Made me wonder how many smiths before me stood at that same anvil making the same kind of work. Has anyone else found old tools that still hold up like that?

@roses69 I get what you're saying, but a loud ring doesn't always mean it's that special. My uncle had an old railroad anvil that rang like a bell but was cracked right in the base where you couldn't see it. Maybe that Dayton anvil is fine, but I'd want a real blacksmith to check it over before I got too excited about it.
