Had a streak of perfect blade centering then ruined it

I was on a roll last month, got four custom knives in a row that all centered perfectly on the first try from different makers. Then yesterday I opened a package for a $300 piece from a guy in Vermont and the blade is rubbing the liner hard on the left side. Anyone dealt with sending a knife back for centering issues and had the maker fix it right?

Rubbing the liner hard" is the key part there. Four perfect centering wins in a row sounds like you were due for a dud, happens with handmade stuff. I'd just reach out to the maker first before shipping it back - most Vermont guys will fix it quick without the return hassle.

Hold up, is a little blade rub really worth the shipping headache and being without your knife for weeks? @hall.charles has a point, that maker will probably just bend the blade over a block of wood and call it good.
