Spent a whole Saturday restoring a 1970s denim blazer and my EDC knife kept snagging the fabric

I was trying to remove some old patches near the collar and my Sypderco caught the lining six times in two hours. Has anyone else dealt with knife-friendly materials messing up jacket restorations?

Had a buddy who used to do leatherwork on the side. He was working on this old leather jacket and his knife kept catching on the stitching near the arm holes. He ended up having to redo a whole section because the snag pulled a thread loose. Spent more time fixing the damage than the original repair. Switched to a rounded tip blade after that.

Funny how that happens in a bunch of hobbies too... you use the wrong tool and end up making twice the work for yourself just to get back to where you started.
