Appreciation post: hit 100 logged plays on BGG and I finally see why my shelf stopped growing
I logged my 100th play on BoardGameGeek last Friday after a session of Cascadia with my Tuesday group in Portland, and the number caught me off guard. Looking back at the list, about 70 of those plays came from just 8 games, which means all those impulse buys from 2022 never even hit the table twice. So my question for you all: did tracking your plays actually change what you buy, or did it just make you feel bad about the shelf of shame?
Heard a guy on a podcast say tracking plays made him sell like 40 games and he's never been happier. Idk if I'd go that far but it does kinda kill the urge to buy stuff that won't get played. My unplayed pile still stares at me though.
