Finally beat my buddy Dave at Twilight Struggle after 11 straight losses
Dave has crushed me at Twilight Struggle 11 times in a row at our Tuesday night meetup in Denver, and I was about to give up on the game. Then I started writing down which cards he plays in the early war turns in a cheap notebook, and it turns out he ALWAYS opens with the same three plays to grab influence in Iran. Last week I set up a different opening, let him take the Middle East, and pushed hard into Europe instead, and he spent the whole mid war scrambling to catch up. I won by 6 points and he just stared at the board for a full minute. Has anyone else tracked an opponent's card habits like this, or is that taking the fun out of it?
