Finally won a game of Brass Birmingham after 8 tries

I kept getting crushed because I was too focused on building canals instead of factories. Last night I just let my beer industry sit and focused on coal and cotton, and ended up winning by 40 points. Anyone else find that ignoring one part of the board makes the rest click?

Man, that's exactly how I finally broke through in Brass too. I kept trying to do everything at once and spreading myself thin. Once I picked coal and just ran with it everything started flowing better.

Yeah the coal path really clicked for me too once I stopped trying to juggle cotton and iron at the same time. Funny thing is I actually hate playing coal in real life board games (I don't know why, it just feels grindy to me) but in Brass it's my go-to now.
