Good week vs bad week for my gaming group lately
Last Saturday we had a perfect game night where everything clicked and we finished a 4-player game of Great Western Trail in under 2 hours. Then this Wednesday we spent 45 minutes arguing about a rule in Wingspan and never even finished the game. Which kind of session do you prefer, the smooth one or the one where drama happens?

Not sure why you'd let a rule argument ruin a whole evening. Seems like an overreaction to something that probably has a clear answer in the rulebook or online. Preferring drama over actually playing the game is weird to me. The smooth session is obviously better because you actually got to play the game instead of debating it. 45 minutes of arguing about Wingspan of all things sounds exhausting for everyone involved. Maybe just agree to house rule it and move on.

Remember when we spent an hour in my group arguing whether you could move a meeple back to a previous space in between turns in some old game I forgot the name of? Good times, but I still get a little twitchy when someone pulls out the rulebook mid-game.

Oh man, tell me about it. We had a whole evening derailed last month over whether a bird in Wingspan could activate its power twice in one round. Three different people pulled up three different online forum posts and we never did agree on the answer. I left that night more tired than after a full workday.
