I spent 4 hours trying to figure out why my Catan board wouldn't fit back in the box

Last weekend I was packing up after a 6-player game in Austin and the hex tiles just would not lay flat no matter what I did. Took me forever to realize I had the 2-player expansion mixed in with the base game tiles and there were like 8 extra pieces. My buddy Dave just watched me struggle for 20 minutes before saying anything, lol. Has anyone else spent way too long on something that dumb?

i mean its just a board game box, not like you were trying to fit a sofa in a smart car lol. but yeah thats annoying when youve got the wrong pieces mixed in.

Honestly @jenny_fox you're not wrong, but try telling that to my brain when I spent 20 minutes convincing myself I'd bought a fake Monopoly set because the pieces didn't match the photo on the box. Ngl I've definitely been that person trying to cram a board game into a bag that's clearly for keys and a granola bar, only to end up with a dented corner and a broken seal. It's like my spatial awareness just nopes out the second I see a cardboard rectangle.
